Slingshot.
Ok. It's been a while since I have graced you with my talents at blogging. sike. but seriously, here it goes...This week has been interesting to say the least. When I say Khleo Thomas, what comes to mind? Well, I definitely didn't know that was the name of Zero form Holes. He came to PLU this week for SOAC and I met him sorta. I guess I should have been wary when I noticed that I was the only male in the room. This did not deter my efforts to see Zero the hero. He of course, being the celebrity he is, walks in fashionably late with his entourage. and by entourage I mean his mom and a manager. low key if you ask me...Apparently he is some big time recording artist now, signing with Soulja Boy and stuff. Soulja Boy asked him what he wanted for signing and all he said was a chain. dude knows what he wants. So he starts signing autographs and taking pictures. A line forms all of a sudden. I start to sweat for some reason. I don't even know why I start a stress response but I start freakin out slightly. I try to hide it but being the only guy in the room, peeps were lookin. Now the line is down to me so I get a picture of him and I also get a picture taken with him. I tried to be as awkward as possible in the picture. I think I accomplished that. I know the title of this blog is Slingshot which bring me to my next topic. I just want to say that walking behind someone that you don't know and they're going quite slow is extremely awkward. This happened to me on multiple occasions this week. Like, you want to pass them but you don't want to heighten the level of awkwardness so you continue to creep up on them. So as I'm stalking these people, I contemplate the right moment to make my move...the slingshot. Basically, I just increase my pace like two times my current speed. I know this only makes things worse because there is that little bit of time you spend side-by-side and I usually look at the ground to avoid awkward eye contact. People need to know that I move with a purpose and that I'm on a mission to get to my classes and other various locations. Well folks, that's all. Remember to keep walkin', keep talkin'.
